Which cigar cutter is right for you?

  • Double guillotine (straight cut). The most common cut. Two blades close from both sides for a clean, even opening. Good for almost any cigar. Popular picks: Xikar Xi1, Xikar XO, Colibri Straight Cut.
  • V-cut. Cuts a wedge into the cap. You get a full draw while the cap stays strong. Great for big ring gauges. Popular picks: Colibri V-Cut, Colibri Diamond V, Xikar VX2.
  • Combo cutters. V-cut and straight cut in one tool, like the Colibri SV-Cut and Xikar Flip Dual.

Check the ring gauge

Every cutter has a maximum ring gauge. If you smoke 60+ ring cigars, choose a cutter rated for 64 or more, like the Xikar XO (cuts up to 70) or Xikar Enso (cuts up to 72).
