Colibri Heritage Pocket Lighter Review: A Double Torch in a Cube
Most torch lighters look like tools. The Colibri Heritage Pocket Lighter looks like a small piece of jewelry. It is a double torch lighter in a square, cube-shaped body, and it has no button on the outside. You light it by sliding the face. Here is how it works, what it does well, and who it is for.

What is the Colibri Heritage Pocket Lighter?
The Heritage Pocket is the small version of Colibri’s Heritage Cube desk lighter. It keeps the same idea: a sculpted cube with beveled edges and a clean face. Inside is a double torch flame, so it lights fast and handles a bit of wind. It comes in six finishes: Black, Silver, Charcoal, Red, Navy and Green.

How it lights
There is no button to look for. You light it by sliding the front face with your thumb. It takes a few tries to get used to, then it feels natural. Because nothing sticks out from the body, the lighter stays smooth and clean in your hand and in your pocket.
What it does well
- Design. The square body and clean face make it stand out from the usual long, thin torch lighters. It looks good on a table.
- Two flames. A double torch is hotter and wider than a single jet, so it lights large ring gauges faster and handles touch-ups.
- Works outside. Torch flames hold up in a breeze, so it is a good choice for the patio or the golf course.
- Easy care. The flame adjuster is a thumb wheel, and the fuel window is hidden but easy to check.
What to know before you buy
- Square, not slim. At 2.4″ across it is compact, but it is wider than a typical pocket torch. It fits a jacket pocket better than a tight jeans pocket.
- New ignition style. The sliding face is different from a button. Give it a few tries before you decide.
- Ships empty. Have a can of clean butane ready.
Heritage Pocket vs Heritage Cube
If you like the look, Colibri also makes the larger Heritage 2-in-1 Cube desk lighter ($149.99). It sits on a table and has both a soft flame and a torch flame. The Pocket is the one you carry; the Cube is the one that stays home. Together they make a matching set and a strong gift.
Care tips
Fill with clean, multi-refined butane. Before the first fill, bleed out any air from the tank. Hold the lighter upside down, fill in short bursts, then wait 2–3 minutes before lighting. If the flame gets weak or sputters, bleed the tank and refill, then adjust the flame with the thumb wheel. Our guide on why your lighter stopped working covers the common fixes.
Who should buy it?
Buy the Heritage Pocket if you want a torch lighter that does not look like every other torch, and you want it to work outside too. It is also an easy gift under $90, with six colors to choose from. If you prefer a quiet soft flame, look at the Colibri Continental instead, or read our soft flame vs torch guide.
